The National Demolition Association (NDA) sent an updated industry priority letter to the White House and Congress Aug. 20 as the government works to craft another COVID relief bill.
The House of Representatives previously passed a bill and the Senate currently has a working draft, but Republicans and Democrats still need to reach an agreement. NDA is lobbying the Senate for issues important to the demolition industry.
NDA-backed priorities in the letter include:
- Strong employer COVID-related liability protections
- A balanced and workable supplemental unemployment benefits policy
- Expanded access to Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds
- Several comprehensive infrastructure proposals
- Other demolition-specific initiatives aimed at aiding the industry
The full letter can be found online.
In addition to the letter, NDA hosted a government affairs town hall on Aug. 26.
The town hall covered issues ranging from employer liability protection proposals, small-business relief, and more.
To support NDA’s direct lobbying, members can go to NDA’s Grassroots Action Center and weigh in directly with their elected officials in just a few clicks. Interested parties can click here to take action on these priorities.
