Hino Trucks of Novi, Michigan, is making changes to its transmission warranty. Effective immediately, 2020 model-year Allison Transmission-equipped Hinos include a five-year unlimited mile transmission warranty.

This new standard gives customers up to two additional years of coverage from the previous warranty and does away with mileage limits at no additional cost to customers. All Allison transmissions offered by Hino Trucks are included, as well as all vocation applications.

The warranty extends to Class 6-8 and includes Hino models 238, 258, 268, 338 and the all-new Hino XL Series.

“We continuously strive to deliver the lowest cost of ownership for our customers, period,” says Hino Trucks’ Senior Vice President of Customer Experience Glenn Ellis. “With the durability and reliability of our proprietary engines and mated Allison Transmissions, it has made it possible to extend to five years of coverage at no charge to our customers.”

Allison transmissions are standard on all conventional Hino trucks, including the recently launched XL Series.

“We are proud to partner with Hino in offering this extended transmission coverage, including our FuelSense 2.0 package. The commitment to quality and workmanship at Allison enables us to offer this extension and further enhances our customers’ confidence in the reliability and durability of Allison Transmission products. We value our relationship with Hino and are pleased to be the standard transmission offered on Hino vehicles in North America,” says Rohan Barua, the Allison Transmission vice president of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) sales.
