The 11-story Reserve Loan Life Building in downtown Dallas was imploded June 29. The building, which was built in the 1940s, was demoed to make way for a First Baptist Dallas expansion project.

First Baptist Dallas purchased the building nearly 30 years ago, and the demolition permit for the project was issued in July, The Dallas News reports.

Controlled Demolition Inc. (CDI), Phoenix, Maryland, acted as explosives subcontractor on the job. Dallas Demolition, headquartered in Dallas, is the main demolition contractor on the project.
