The Carpet America Recovery Effort (CARE) will be holding a webinar on March 22, 2011, to discuss California AB 2398, which will have a direct impact on the carpet retailing industry.
Under the new law, starting July 1, 2011, there will be a $.05 per-square-yard carpet stewardship assessment fee placed on all carpet sold in the state.
An announcement by CARE notes that all retailers will be required to include the fee as an after-tax line item on carpet sales.
