Terex Finlay has introduced its model 893 tracked mobile heavy-duty screener, which it describes as “a highly versatile and aggressive machine engineered and built for working in quarrying, mining, construction and demolition debris, topsoil, recycling, sand, gravel, coal, ore and aggregate applications.”

The forward-facing inclined modular configuration screenbox has a 20-foot-by-6-foot top deck and a 18-foot-by-6-foot bottom deck. Depending on the working application of the machine, hydraulic adjustment can be used to vary the working range angle of the screen box between 14 and 18 degrees.

The screenbox top deck can be fitted with a variety of screening media, including mesh, punch plate, bofor bars and tines. The bottom deck can be fitted with mesh, punch plate and cascade fingers, the company says.

A 44-inch apron feeder and hydraulic gearbox drive is fitted to the machine as standard and is designed to perform in demanding and varied working environments, says Terex Finlay. The hopper has a 13.1-cubic-yard standard capacity.

The machine is powered by either a Tier 3/Stage 3A Caterpillar 202 hp engine or a Tier 4i Caterpillar 173 hp engine. It also is equipped with three hydraulically folding discharge conveyors designed to allow for maximum stockpiling capacity and associated benefits of rapid setup and teardown times.

The heavy-duty crawler tracks and optional radio remote control unit are designed to make onsite mobility easy. Another feature of the machine is its ability to hydraulically raise the screenbox 24 inches at the discharge end to provide additional clearance for fines transfer and for ease of media change and routine maintenance.

The plant has the capacity to process up to 800 metric tons per hour and can be fed either by a tracked mobile crusher or an excavator.

Terex Finlay describes the plant as “fully self-contained” as it can be hydraulically folded and ready for transport in less than 30 minutes, making it appropriate for large-scale contract screening projects.

Key features include:

  • versatile screen box can be easily adapted to suit many applications;
  • modular configuration screen box with 20-foot by 6-foot top deck and 18-foot by 6-foot bottom deck screen;
  • screen box can accept bofor bars, screen harps, woven mesh, punch plate and cascade fingers;
  • screen box angle can be hydraulically adjusted to an angle between 14 and 18 degrees;
  • screen box discharge end can be hydraulically raised 24 inches to facilitate efficient and easy media access and changing;
  • all stockpiling conveyors are hydraulic angle-adjustable with hydraulic extending head sections for maximum discharge and stockpile height; and
  • the apron feeder angle is adjustable, with a lower position to accommodate crusher feed and a high position providing reduced feeder incline angle when operated in direct feed mode from excavator or loader.
