Sims Recycling Solutions FZE (SRS) has been awarded the Environmental Performance Certificate (EPC) by the UAE Ministry of Environment and Water. The company was recognized for its efforts to comply with environmental protection standards and regulations to assure environmental sustainability.

Kenneth Neil, SRS’ business development manager, accepted the award from H. E. Dr Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahim, the UAE’s Minister of Environment and Water.

The EPC award recognizes Sims contribution to the reduction of material going to landfills. Companies who have received the award need to demonstrate how they are reducing the environmental impact within the UAE and are working to reduce the UAE’s environmental impact.

Critically, SRS were able to demonstrate that their handling processes maintained a full audit trail regarding how and where material was handled. Specifically, compliance with International Standards and that SRS ensured no material was shipped to countries where the shipping of retired ICT assets could be deemed illegal or immoral.

This award recognizes that SRS is delivering environmentally friendly solutions to organizations within the UAE for retired electronic equipment, and reassures business that SRS is recycling their assets using world class processes and helping the UAE authorities reduce their reliance on landfill sites.
