Doug Kramer, president of Kramer Metals Inc., Los Angeles, and chair-elect of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI), will be honored at a June 2013 banquet by the American Diabetes Association.

The American Diabetes Association’s Father’s Day Council of Los Angeles has selected Kramer as a 2013 Father of the Year. Kramer will be honored at a dinner at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., on Thursday, June 13.

The Father’s Day Council is a group of volunteers who annually select and honor “individuals who are exemplary businessmen, community leaders and, most importantly, dads.”

“Being honored for accomplishments as a model father is sought by many but attained by few,” says
Doug’s father Stanley Kramer, chairman of Kramer Metals Inc. “We know among all the recognitions Doug has received during the years, this award will give him the utmost pride. Anyone who knows Doug is aware how much he loves his sons, Noah and Jonah, and how deeply committed he is to them in every way.”

The June 13 banquet is open to up to 400 friends, family and business associates of Kramer’s, as is space in a commemorative “2013 Father of the Year Tribute Journal.”
