Sennebogen, with American headquarters in Stanley, N.C., says its new 8130 EQ Material Handler “is consistently balanced for any situation and guarantees minimal energy and running costs in daily use, both on the scrap yard and in port material handling, thanks to the classic lever principle.”

"With the Sennebogen 8130 EQ balance material handling machine, we are reaching a new dimension in terms of energy efficiency," says Erich Sennebogen, the German company’s managing director.

The company says the 8130 EQ “can save up to 75 percent of the energy and running costs, compared with conventional diesel motor drive” handlers.

According to a Sennebogen press release, the 8130 EQ, powered by an electric motor, has an adjustable counterweight designed to ensure the machine always remains perfectly balanced in any position and the center of gravity stays central. Because of a directly linked counterweight, minimal energy usage provides sufficient drive “even for large reaches and high loads,” according to the company.

The 8130 EQ’s 400-volt electric motor generates 130 kilowatts, while the handler’s short hydraulic connection and its control technology allow the power to get to where it is needed. The material handler’s design results in “reduced costs and a motor that operates quietly and smoothly without refueling,” according to Sennebogen..

The material handler can operate in an area of around 24,750 square feet (2,300 square meters). Additional material can be piled up to a height of more than 80 feet (25 meters). From larger ships to handy-size-class (20,000 to 40,000 long tons deadweight) vessels, the Sennebogen 8130 is designed to unload goods up to a depth of 26 feet (8 meters) and can bear a load of up to 11 tons (10 metric tons).

Sennebogen says the machine also is designed for easy access for monitoring and maintenance. More information on the 8130 EQ can be found at www.Sennebogen.de.
