CDR Staff June 25, 2012

Attendees of the 2012 C&D Recycling Forum, Sept. 23-25 in Long Beach, Calif., will have the opportunity to learn how they can potentially incorporate additional materials such as carpet, ceiling tiles and roofing shingles into their processes.

During a session titled, Closing New Loops, at 11 a.m. Sept. 24, speakers from these industries will come together to share with recyclers ways in which they can recycle these materials.

Barry Hornbacher, shingle recycling program manager, for Toledo, Ohio-based Owens Corning will discuss the efforts the shingle manufacturer is making to expand shingle recycling.

Also taking part in the panel is Ron Greitzer of LA Fiber, Vernon, Calif., which claims to be the largest carpet recycler the world to discuss the company’s process.

Rounding out the panel is Andy Lake, recycling infrastructure process specialist for Armstrong World Industries, Lancaster, Pa. He will discuss the company’s ceiling tile and flooring recycling programs and how C&D recyclers and demolition contractors can participate.
