Atlas Copco, Commerce City, Colo., a manufacturer of equipment for the construction and mining industry, has appointed Ray Shelor product line manager for down-the-hole (DTH) equipment for Atlas Copco’s Construction Mining Technique USA. In his role, Shelor will report to Gene Mattila, business line manager for Rock Drilling Tools.

Ross Gjerde

Shelor had been the product line manager for top hammer equipment for the past six years. In his new role of managing the complete DTH equipment line, Shelor will continue to serve the oil and gas markets, as well as the mining and aggregate industries.

Atlas Copco also announced the appointment of Ross Gjerde to the position of product line manager for its top hammer equipment line, effective immediately. He also will report to Mattila.

Previously, Gjerde served as a product and business development manager for Atlas Copco’s parts and service division. His new duties will include developing sales and marketing strategies, supporting sales channels and driving product development to meet customer requirements for top hammer equipment.

“Ross’s engineering and total channel support background, as well as his knowledge of value-added products for our drill rigs, makes him a good fit for the rock drilling tools group,” says Mattila.
