Aggregates processing and material handling equipment maker Masaba [www.], Vermillion, South Dakota, has expanded its sales force by hiring industry veteran Bob Brewer as its western region sales manager.
“Bob is extremely knowledgeable and has a lot of experience in our industry,” says Masaba President Jerad Higman. “We are very excited to have him on Team Masaba. He’s a great guy to work with and will be a valuable asset,” Higman says of Brewer, who has more than 35 years of industry experience.

Masaba’s line of conveyors, screens and crushers has enjoyed “substantial growth in recent years and created the need for another sales manager,” the company says in a news release announcing Brewer’s hiring.

In his new role, Brewer will be responsible for sales activities and managing customer relationships in the western United States.

Masaba Inc. was founded by Harold Higman Sr. in Iowa in 1939 as Higman Sand and Gravel. Higman designed much of his own equipment and his son, Harold Higman Jr., officially formed Masaba in 1962 to focus on marketing this equipment to others. Harold Jr.’s son Jerad Higman took over Masaba in 1999 and in 2005 moved the manufacturing location to South Dakota.

Masaba’s conveying, screening and crushing equipment is now found in mining, aggregate, agriculture, ports and inland waterways, industrial, power plants, pulp and paper, wood chip and specialty minerals applications.
