DTG acquires wood recycling company for $14M

Bothwell, Washington-based DTG Recycle continues to expand its presence in the Pacific Northwest, making its most recent acquisition in the wood recycling space.

As reported by The Registry, a real estate news company covering the Puget Sound region, the company purchased All Wood Recycling, based in Redmond, Washington, for $14 million.

As part of the transaction, DTG will acquire All Wood’s 4.7-acre site, which includes a 176-square-foot office building, a 3,898-square-foot service garage and a 504-square-foot utility building, according to King County records. The sale was recorded Nov. 30.

In Washington state, DTG is a leading independent nonmunicipal solid waste recycling business providing integrated services for commercial, industrial and construction customers. Since its formation in 1999, DTG has grown to become a regional leader with a network of collection assets, 12 material recovery facilities across the Puget Sound region and one construction and demolition landfill

The acquisition of All Wood comes just before the Dec. 1 announcement of DTG’s recapitalization, where Toronto-based Clairvest—the company’s long-term financial partner—sold its equity interest in DTG to a fund managed by Australia-based Macquarie Asset Management.

Since the company’s initial partnership with Clairvest in January 2020, DTG has successfully completed 10 acquisitions and executed several greenfield growth projects.
