Three circular ramp towers, at the exterior of the Houston Astrodome were brought down using explosives on Dec. 8, 2013. Houston-based demolition firm Cherry performed the demolition.

According to reports, crews began demotion on exterior portions of the arena in October 2013. In November, voters rejected a $217 million renovation bond to save the Astrodome. According to reports, however, Harris County commissioners have not made a final decision on whether the dome will be razed.
