Nobel Prize winner to headline National Demolition Association Convention

Former U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Steven Chu will give keynote during Feb. 22-25, 2014 event in Las Vegas.

Nobel Prize-winning American physicist and former U.S. Secretary of Energy Steven Chu will be the keynote speaker at the National Demolition Association’s (NDA’s) 41st Annual Convention in Las Vegas, Feb. 22-25, 2014.

In his address, Dr. Chu will explain how recent innovations in energy technologies were fostered by a culture of cooperation and leadership within the scientific and business communities. In addition to discussing the world’s energy future, the Stanford University professor will share the lessons he learned that can be used to promote a culture of innovation within any business.

The NDA Annual Convention opens on Feb. 22 with the 27th Annual NDA Golf Tournament at the Arroyo Golf Club in Las Vegas. On Feb. 23, the event continues with delegate registration, association meetings and an opening night cocktail reception.

For the first time, the NDA also is offering a Leadership Training Program for industry executives, with limited enrollment on a first-come, first-served basis. On Feb. 24, the convention resumes with general sessions and the opening of the exhibit hall. Attendees will enjoy a common sense explanation of the Affordable Care Act, a state-of-the-construction industry overview, and essential advice about professional development and key employee retention over the course of Feb. 24 and 25.
